Vista Sucks

Vista has the worst networking support of any operating system that I've had to suffer through. For no reason at all, it randomly drops my connection to the Internet through my cell phone and won't reconnect for more than two minutes at a time (assuming it connects at all) until I restart the laptop. There are plenty of other things that just don't work well: The "safely remove hardware" dialog rarely appears when I click on it. I was getting an "access denied" error when trying to open the My Music folder of My Documents until I found a work around for that. Starting up and shutting down take even longer than XP did. The only things I can give Vista credit for are that it looks pretty and isn't terribly crash-prone, but the other errors and flaws in the OS make it a far from enjoyable experience.

I'm probably going to mess around with Ubuntu when I get home next time and see if I can get everything to work properly. If so, Vista's getting exorcised from my laptop and I'll be quite happy to ditch it.
